Simple Tips For Better Curb Appeal
Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I'm excited to be participating in a curb appeal post with a few blogging friends today! If you are new to these parts, welcome! While I'm no expert at curb appeal, I'm happy to share what I "feel" like has worked for our home and homes that I'm always drawn to.
I've always said that homes don't have to be big & fancy - actually, sometimes less is more. The key (at least for me) is to keep it simple. We chose to stick with a green and white color combo in our front yard. We met with a landscape designer who helped us come up with a plan and installed most of it ourselves.
I really love how our designer recommended creating a special "feature" garden in front of our sunroom window. In it, we included dwarf English boxwood, hellebores, and Annabelle hydrangeas. It's always a good idea to combine evergreen and deciduous plants in your landscape so that there is always something green any time of the year.
I've always been a sucker for window boxes! I just love charm they add and they can be changed out with the seasons. Sometimes I stuff mine with magnolia branches in the winter.
Front porch planters are a great place to add a splash of color, but keep in mind the color of your door. Red doors and pink flowers may send a strong Valentines day vibe :). This year I opted for pink geraniums and that's...
