OK - What Do You Think - YES-NO-MAYBE
If you have seen my home, then I am sure you have seen my huge mirror in the living room. I really like the mirror, but realize that in this house it totally overpowers the room and the furniture. This is a really, really big mirror - 4' x 7' with a really big antique gold frame. Here is a view from the stairs.

and another view. Ok, we all get that it is big. It hung over the sofa in two houses ago that had vaulted ceilings and looked fine, however these ceilings are much higher.
Here it was in my last house with 9' ceilings and between two windows. It didn't look so big.
NOW THE QUESTION IS THIS - - -Is it the elephant in the room or is it the one quirky thing that makes this room unique" I have loved having this huge mirror because it makes the rooms I've had look so much bigger. This current living room is 15' x 31' including the dining area. The one thing that makes the living area seem small is the recessed section by the front window. It is only 9' wide, so that is really small. It confines the living space down to a really small footprint. Several have asked me why I didn't try the sofa in front of the window and the small space is why. There is no room for end tables on the sides it is such a confined area.
