Inside an architect's charming island escape!
This charming 1,200-square-foot B.C. home belongs to homeowner and architect Jim Bussey that he shares with his wife, their five grown children and their beloved Yorkshire terrier. To create his island escape, he purchased a heavily treed empty lot when it came to the market four years ago. With the help of interior designer Jack Brown, it was transformed into an inviting and relaxing boat-access cottage. Let's check it out!

Such a lovely home! With interesting architectural elements like shiplap walls, exposed ceiling beams, vaulted ceilings, salvaged windows and doors, this cottage is bursting with charm, style and personality! To let the architecture shine, white walls and clean-lined furnishings are incorporated. Natural textural elements such as sisal rug, wicker chair and linen throw pillows are used to add depth and coziness to the space.
