Hair How-To: An Editorial Up-Do
Hair provides the perfect finishing touch to an ensemble and that’s exactly what Niky Epi does each and every time we venture to Milan for fashion week. See how you can recreate Olivia’s super cool bun (with a twist) with his easy to follow steps below!
To create the frame for Olivia’s look, I came up with a very modern and casually cool twist up bun. What you’ll need to recreate this look are a simple brush, super thin black elastic hair ties and the essential hair grips.

First, take a small section of hair that goes from the front of the hairline to the back center (occiput). This lock of hair will need to be carefully chosen as it should not only be centered but parallel to the eyebrows’ to give you your starting point. Next, begin criss-crossing the hair to create a flat braid (adding a dash of clear wax to help define and twist the hairs without any frizz or fly-aways. Braid until the end of the strands and set the braid with the super thin black elastic hair tie. Take the rest of the loose hair and fashion it into a high bun fastening it with at least 3-4 hair grips to make sure it stays firmly in place. To finish the look, take the end of the braid and wrap it around the base of the bun with the help of the hair grips and you’re ready to conquer the day with a touch of editorial style!
