Bonjour,

The picnic season is here and I am always on the lookout for new recipes to try.

I made this provencal style quiche last weekend and French Boyfriend has given it his seal of approval.

The original recipe is followed by a version in English.

Quiche au thon et à la tomate
Ingrédients pour 4 personnes :

1 pâte feuilletée
2 tomates
1 boite de 150g thon au naturel
50g de gruyère râpé
3 ?ufs
10cl de lait
sel
poivre
moutarde

Préparation :
Dérouler la pâte feuilletée dans un moule à tarte.
Egoutter le thon.
Tartiner la pâte avec de la moutarde.
Etaler le thon sur la pâte.
Couper les tomates en rondelles et les disposer sur le thon.
Parsemer de fromage râpé.
Battre les ?ufs en omelette. Ajouter le lait. Mélanger. Saler, poivrer puis verser sur la tarte.
Enfourner 35 min à 180°C.

Provencal Tuna and Tomato Quiche
Serves 4 

1 roll of ready made puff pastry
2 tomatoes
1 box of 150g natural tuna
50g grated Gruyère cheese
3 eggs
100 mls  milk
salt
pepper
mustard
Preparation:

Line a quiche dish with the puff pastry.
Drain the tuna.
Cover the puff pastry with mustard.
Then top with the drained tuna.
Slice the tomatoes and then arrange on top of the tuna.
Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Beat the eggs, add the milk and mix together.
Season with salt and pepper and pour over the quiche.

Bake 35 min at 180 ° C.

You can eat it hot or cold, either tastes great.
