France was chosen as the first country for King Chares and Queen Camilla's first royal visit and France went all out last night.
The chosen venue was the hall of Mirrors in Chateau Versailles with a 62 metre long table and 150 guests.The table looked amazing with beautiful baccarat glasses,18th century plates, flowers that paid hommage to the late and dearly loved Queen Elizabeth, lots of silver cutlery and candelabras.
The menu was created by 4 of the best French chefs, three-starred Yannick Alléno and Anne-Sophie Pic who concocted the meal, alongside the world-renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé and the official chef of the Palais de l'Élysée, Fabrice Desvisgnes in consultation with the King and Queen and the President Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron.The starter, was blue lobster, crab cake and its veil of fresh almonds and rooster mint, created by Anne-Sophie Pic.For the main course, Bresse poultry was marinated in champagne for 17 hours. A preparation accompanied by a porcini gratin, in a nod to the guilty pleasure of the royal couple, Charles and Camilla, ?who love mushrooms?, according to the author of this dish at Paris Match, Yannick Alléno.Two types of cheese were on the menu, a 30-month Comté and a Stichelton, a 100% English blue cheese.Finally, the menu ended with a dessert suggested by First Lady Brigitte Macron herself; Ispahan rose, raspberry, litchi desserts.
