Channeling the 1960s, Brazilian studio Debaixo do Bloco Arquitetura presents a remodeled version of an open-concept residential apartment in 308S BrasÃlia. The updated floor plan which features exposed concrete walls, cut open to form a single shared space for communal living, preserves the apartment?s pre-existing modernist design elements, including its granilite flooring and white cobogo screens. Showcasing black cabinetry with corrugated glass doors and white countertops, the narrow kitchen facilitates the free passage of natural light through square cut-outs in the walls. Forming a bench in front of the living room?s large windows, the low-lying wood shelving units effortlessly wrap around the space, creating opportunity for residents to store objects along the interiors of the wall.
