Once again, it is World Oceans Day, and we hope you have been thinking about the health of our planet?s oceans more than once a year. As the maker of the world?s first true dive watch with unidirectional bezel in 1953, Blancpain certainly has been. As we noted last year, World Oceans Day is particularly important for watch enthusiasts, given the prominence of the dive watch to all of us, and consequently the watchmaking industry.

While watch brands such as Blancpain, have been trying to make better dive watches for decades, they would not do this if the watches did not sell. And sell they do, so we would think that a reminder of what lies beneath old Big Blue on your wrist would make you more than a little interested in how the oceans are doing.Â
