Beauty is nothing if not an ever-evolving fusion of color, shape and line; and couture is nothing if not the vanguard of innovation, artistry and the avant-garde. So, it comes as little (though a thoroughly delightful) surprise that bold, decisive color and a nod to a futurist landscape defined the Spring 2018 Couture runways.
This season was all about the makeup. A swipe of metallic across the eyes, saturation at its most opaque, new line designs and candy-color coated lips were some of the highlights on the catwalk that we couldn?t stop talking about post show. Here are a few of our favorites to inform your own roundup discussions.
Candy Girl ? One of the most shared and loved images of Spring 2018 couture was of fashion?s newly-minted It Girl, Kaia Gerber, veiled and ready to walk for Chanel. While the veils themselves were a talking piece, it was Kaia?s watermelon-shade, glossy-texture pout that had everyone swooning. So much couture is fantasy, and this brought a runway to realway moment we can all get on board with.
Golden Eye ? Zuhair Murad and Eli Saab embraced golden-metallic lines on the lids. Saab?s offered a minimalist line on the upper lid while Murad offered a more dramatic winged version that had has thinking of Wonder Woman and the power of unapologetic beauty.
