I am not sure why, but last week I purchased a lot of frozen strawberries as I thought that these would be great to have on hand.So I thought that this weekend I would make something with them. Jam is always a good option but it has been a busy and strange week as we are going back into lockdown for a month and it will take a few days to get used to use and get into a routine like we did earlier in the year. Hence we deserve a sweet treat this weekend and this is what I am going to be making, thanks to feastandfable for the fabulous recipe.
Strawberry ClafoutisINGREDIENTS450 grams Strawberries, halved or quartered1 Tbsp. Cornstarch3 Eggs1 Cup Milk2/3 Cup Flour1/4 Cup Sugar2 teaspoons Vanilla Extractpinch of Saltpowdered sugar, for garnishice cream, for toppingstrawberry sauce, for garnishMETHOD1.) Toss the strawberries lightly with sifted cornstarch and divide between 4 ramekins (or 8, 3.5 inch mini-skillets). Then, whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla and salt. Pour over the strawberries and bake until partially golden-brown and slightly puffed up, 25-30 minutes (or 16- 20 minutes if using mini skillets). Serve with a garnish of sifted powdered sugar, ice cream and strawberry sauce! Bon appetit! Note if you are using frozen strawberries,...
