French Food Friday - Cranberry and thyme bread rolls
Yesterday I was in the mood to make some bread and I fancied something festive.End result was some very yummy bread rolls which we devoured with goats cheese and a drizzle of honey.These would make a lovely addition to a festive meal or you could serve them with salad for a light and tasty lunch.
Cranberry and thyme bread rolls
Ingredients500g white bread flour1 ½ teaspoon dried yeast2 tbs olive oil1 tbs dried cranberries1 tbs dried thyme1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon sugarAbout 225 ml warm water
To finish Beaten egg, Sesame, Poppy seeds
Directions1.Put the flour, salt and yeast and sugar and oil into the bowl of the mixer.2.Add the thyme and cranberries.3.Mix to a soft dough with the warm water.4.Mix for a 3 or 4 minutes. 5.Leave it is a warm place to rise for 30 minutes.6.Divide the dough 8 pieces and form them into rolls, then place on a baking sheet and leave to prove for another 30 minutes.7.Top with a little beaten egg, and sprinkle with seeds.8.Cook in a hot oven ? 210 degrees, for about 10 minutes until the rolls sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
