French Food Friday - Babka à la myrtilles
This recipe has just arrived in my inbox this morning. It is perfect timing as I wanted to make something different and we love blueberries.
Babka à la myrtillesIngredients for 1 brioche:12 g fresh yeast150 g milk250g of flour50 g sugar3 g of salt100 g butter100 g blueberry jamPreparation:In a bowl, dilute the yeast in the lukewarm milk.In the bowl of a food processor, combine the flour, sugar and salt.Pour the yeast / milk mixture into the dry ingredients.Knead for 8 min until you get an elastic dough.Add the softened butter and continue kneading the dough, until it comes off the sides.Cover the dough with a tea towel and set aside for 1 hour in a warm room away from drafts. As soon as the dough has puffed up, roll it out into a rectangle (the same length as your cake tin and 3x its width).Spread the jam on the dough then roll it as tight as possible.Place the dough in the freezer for 5 minutes, then cut it in 2, lengthwise, then braid the babka.Place the babka in the cake tin and let rise quietly for 1 hour in a warm room away from drafts.Bake for 25 minutes at 180 ° C.Take out of the oven, let the babka cool down before unmolding it on a rack.Bon appetit ??
