Drapery Trim Ideas
You know me, I mull things over for quite a while before I finally make a decision. If I don't then I usually wind up changing it 15 times. I always think over any sewing project for quite a while. It just makes sense to have a plan finalized before I start in on yards and yards of fabric.
Drapes can be subtle and quiet, I really like that look, or they can command a little attention. I really don't like for my drapes to command too much attention. I like for them to blend into the background of a room and add some softness to windows, not dominate the window.
In the living room of my last house I had some really pretty beige and white plaid drapes that I loved. They gave just enough pattern to the room, yet they didn't dictate what other pattern I was using. These stayed with the house at the new owners request. I think she liked them as much as I did.
See how they add just a touch of pattern and texture with a slight shimmer to the fabric. They don't scream at you, they just add interest in a really quiet way.
I liked that I could still use any pattern I wanted with them and they still held their own.
The family room in that house had quite a few different treatments too. At one point I was into a little more farmhouse style, so I went with checks. These were fun and so economical. They are tablecloths. How easy is that.
