Daily Housekeeping
Over the years, I've fallen into a daily housecleaning routine that I believe helps our home run more smoothly day to day. A little effort here and there keeps everything in check so that there's never a huge mess to deal with (in theory). Today I'm going to share some of my daily housekeeping tips.
Ever since I was a little girl, I've made my bed daily. To me, that's the best way to start the day, corny as it sounds. It only takes a minute or two and it's so worth it when I walk by and catch a glimpse of our little bedroom. It's also nice to slip into bed at night knowing that the sheets are tucked and the blankets are all in order.
At the end of the day, I fluff & karate chop the pillows in our family room. I stack the coasters & take any glassware to the kitchen. It's nice waking up to a clean slate!
Sometime after dinner and before bed, I wipe down the kitchen counters with a mixture of 1 part rubbing alcohol and 3 parts water. This combination not only kills germs but cuts grease & makes our countertops shine. I also use it on our stovetop when it needs it, which is daily if I cook. Dishcloths and towels get replaced with fresh ones to be used the next day. I use to sponges, but feel like dishcloths might be a better way to go when it comes to germs.
