As the dust settles ...
Phew! Wow, well, how do I even start" THANK YOU! If you bought from the sale, I really want to just thank you, from the bottom of my heart! There were so many beautiful things that were sold, and with the exception of one pair of French wine baskets, everything should have made it to its new home at this point!
It was a great joy seeing all of the happy emails from people who have adopted these things and given them a new space, and I hope you'll all pop back over again in a few months, when I've had a little longer to curate a few more things for sale from my art collection and my storage and studio spaces.
As the dust settles now, the apartment is a real mess! Catastrophic even! But I have a plan that will hopefully get it back to useful for the time I've got left here. The rough plan:
Yeah - different, right" This was once the living room, but now that most all of that furniture is gone, I'm going to make it into my dining room. I've never had a real beautiful space for dining. Of course, I had the dining room before, but it was never really conducive to having large numbers of people over. I think I hosted a couple of parties for 2 or 4, but never more than that, and inevitably we ended up eating in the living room.
This space is relatively minimal (in my head) with the existing seagrass rug and wallcolor, a large console table with a skirt on the wall where my armoire used to be, topped by two lamps, and perhaps an orchid arrangement in front of a piece ...
